RC3 introduces a new theme for Blite and includes several bugfixes. As always, feedback is appreciated!
Changes from RC2:
- Add new option "Tagline" in Settings -> Display.
- Add new theme "Sky".
- Fix HTML validation error in pagination code (unencoded ampersands).
For years I've been searching for a quality Xen or KVM Virtual Private Server (VPS) in Canada, suitable for a hobby budget. As the Canadian VPS market is very small (at least compared to the US and the EU) it's been hard to find.
Blite.ca is now hosted in Montreal, Quebec — barely 1,600 km as-the-crow-flies and 60 msec ping time from my desktop! Along with blite.ca I've also repatriated my other hobby site: baycam.ca.
Here's a new theme for Blite called "Sky", inspired by the big blue sky I've been seeing every morning during our incredibly fine summer this year.
In addition to the new colours, there's more whitespace (actually blue space) for a relaxed and open feel. I've also experimented with web fonts from Font Squirrel. The blog title uses Kaushan Script, while article titles and other heading elements are set in Nunito. These fonts are included in the theme so no setup is required.
The Sky theme will be included in the next release of Blite.
Blite Demo SiteFor anyone who'd like to try Blite without bothering to install it, a demo site is now available. The demo is fully functional except that the ability to change the administrator's credentials (username, password, email, etc.) is disabled.
Visit demo.blite.ca and login with:
The demo will remain available as long as it isn't subject to abuse. Please be nice.
Feedback is, as always, appreciated. Thanks!
Here's an updated version of my server status script. This version works correctly with OpenVz containers using vSwap.
You can get it here: /files/scripts/status-3.sh.txt.
For setup instructions see the previous post.
